This non-refundable non-negotiable software “seemed” to install but then didn’t. I activated it again and again — a little line went back and forth but nothing happened. The next time I turned on my computer the system was no longer on my desktop. Maybe there is a way to get it to work on my machine, but after spending a couple of hours trying to figure out what that way might be, I decided it was no longer worth it.
I used AVG for many years and was very enthusiastic about the “ultimate”. Followed the instructions and the suggestions of one of the reviewers. After removing the former version (not all of which came off), I installed and everything went downhill from there. Ended up w/ a black screen and pointer. Finally performed a restore, then it took several tries to get the software again. Not good enough to just log into the site need to go to it from the first step as if registering. made another attempt to clean out the prior AVG, and still found that troublesome, even the removal tool at avg was incomplete. Re-istalled and it worked but computer opened but left a 0x000,,142 error,. tried a clean-up w 3rd party software, but incompatible w/ the AVG loaded. Tried to call customer service got a 3rd world guy who asked to get in remotely watched for 3 minutes to see he was looking beyond the scope and refused to answer for whom he worked- cut him off.
